Class Cameo

We have had a lot going on this week! First of all, at the beginning of last week, we finished posting about a lab on heart rates and what it looks like to have a heart attack. We learned more skills about using technology and other applications to get our data across and to use the technology to our advantage to learn more about our hearts.

We also started to learn a lot more about heart disease. Mrs. Kahn walked us through a powerpoint she made about women and heart disease and it was incredibly interesting to hear more of the facts. We learned that heart disease is the leading cause of death in women in the nation (more than the next 5 reasons combined!). This really opened my eyes to how serious heart disease is and how important it is that I get educated and spread the word.

One of our assignments to further our education in this section was to make a PSA video focusing on one aspect of heart disease. I was in a group with Sophia Brooks and Tiffany Ehlers and we decided to do a rap. The aspect that we centered our PSA on was how to help prevent heart disease (which I argue is the most important thing to take away from this lesson). We made all original content and had a blast shooting it! (Below is the actual video me made!) I had an amazing time learning more about my body and ways to help prevent heart disease this week. I am looking forward to many more weeks filled with more learning!
