Digestive and Immune systems

The digestive and immune system work hand in hand to ensure the inner harmony and equilibrium in the body. The digestive system focuses on breaking down what you eat while the immune system closely interrogates those molecules being digested to ensure no foreign predators have entered into the body. These two systems are incredibly vital to the health of the individual.

According to IBS Treatment Center, the digestive tube has a very large surface area that needs to be protected against parasites, viruses, bad bacteria, and many more. The body is exposed to outside substances numerous times throughout the day. Most of the time, these foods are completely fine and even healthy for the body. While this is regularly the case, there are certain situations where the outside substance is harmful to the body. This is where the immune system steps in. The immune system’s role is to detect these bad molecules and protect the body against any harm. When discovering a harmful substance, the immune system attacks it by means of inflammation and by producing excess mucus.

These systems are vital for all people, but especially important for athletes. These people are pushed to their limit daily to achieve their max excellence. For this to take place, it is imperative that they take care of their body to ensure the mechanics behind both these systems run as smoothly as possible.

How do they do this, you might ask? It is simple! According to Harvard Health Publications, there are many daily activities to help boost one’s immune system. Below are drawings of the top 4 things all individuals can do to help boost his/her immune system.

These are extremely important steps to stay happy and healthy!

In addition, people from Team Isagenix have done multiple studies to find what the best materials for all people to eat to help keep a strong immune system. The first food is protein! Protein ensures the body maintains optimal protein status. It is packed with amino acids and it helps directly stimulate the immune system for optimal response. The second mineral is zinc. Zinc is incredibly helpful in developing T-Cells. These cells work directly with the immune system to fight bad materials in the body! Lastly, they stated that colostrum is extremely important. Colostrum is a form of milk that contains immunoglobulins, protein-rich polypeptides and lactoferrin. These minerals help restore the body after long trainings.

Being an athlete myself, researching this topic was extremely interesting. I love learning new information that is directly applicable to my daily life! I will definitely incorporate these steps into my daily life to ensure my immune system stays strong and healthy.
